Saturday, March 24th was awesome. This was the 3rd year we’ve put together the Adult Prom – A Dance for 65 Roses at Farrington Place with all of the proceeds benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. By the end of the evening we raised $8400 (our largest total to date). For a video recap, check out the video following this post.
What is it?
I often get asked what is the Adult Prom? At the core, it’s a fun night out with your friends full of dancing and a great time. We encourage everyone to dress the part. Some guests come in full prom attire, while others come dressed for an elegant night out, but not quite to the extent of prom dresses or tuxes. However this year we did have someone dress as Belle & the Beast (in human form) from Beauty & the Beast.
What all is included?
For the cost of a ticket, all guests are treated to hors d’oeuvres, open bar, a photographer taking formal shots (Leriche Photography), photo booth, silent auction, and music and dancing provided by D.C. Entertainment.
I am blessed to have the help of a committee of close friends that work together to put this event on, my wife who heads up the silent auction, volunteers that help work the door and silent auction bidding, Farrington Place for providing an awesome venue for us all to use, all of the donors of silent auction items, iHeart Media Williamsport as our media sponsors helping to get the word out about the event, and I can’t forget to mention Hometown Floral who donated a beautiful 65 purple rose bouquet. Even though our company is the ones behind this event, it would be impossible to do without the help of everyone involved. Lastly, I can’t forget to thank everyone who came out to enjoy the prom. Without them, no money would have been raised.
